Maybelline Cat Eyes Voluminous Mascara - $18.90 (ex but very good)
I got lipgloss too.
But i still need blusher and eyeshadow. Must have the smoky eyes thing!

Oh, and Ci Hui and Michelle, you guys need to go too BY SATURDAY or no costume = no performance.

heyyyyyy!
so more stuff to take note of:
1. Yisi, Pauline and me will be having History makeup class tomorrow, from 12.45-1.45pm. as i know some of us have two exams and some have three exams tomorrow, i need to know how many exams you are having tomorrow, also what time will they end. If yours end much earlier than 1.45, i think you can go first and we'll meet you at tailorshop. If yours end slightly earlier, you could wait for the three of us and go with us. Which ever way, we will all be meeting at the tailorshop - La Wen Boutique (you might wanna ask for directions-it's quite hard to find) at around 3pm, ok? so just take note and tell me what time your exams end!
2. Tomorrow, those going earlier please remember to tell the lady at the shop to get it ready by mid-may. If not, no costumes at open house = no performance.
3. I realised that some of you think tomorrow is only going tailorshop but we will also be buying makeup so please come along too even if your costume does not need alteration or whatsoever.

Thanks dahlings...Hope to see you there and GOOD LUCK FOR SAs tomorrow!!
TRaCey. (:

Sigh...I am not supposed to be posting now as the examinations are just around the corner. I feel like saying "sigh..." again...no Angklung for the next two weeks. Angklung has became part of my weekly life subconciously, and one of the happiest parts of the day for me. It is fun to just be there, knowing that you are in the best CCA in RGS.
Sigh...not able to attend the Sec One Angklung Bonding thing with you guys...very very very very sorry. How was it? Did you buy make-up? Because I haven't bought yet...my mother/grandmother may have, must ask.
By the way, the blogskin looks like one of the themes I have on my phone, my friend sent it to me via Bluetooth, so I have no idea how she got it. And can someone put the thing that blocks the words on the first post away? It kinds of blocks the words on the post.
Good luck for your SAs,
Lim Ci Hui

Heyas, gals!
This is gonna be very brief since i shouldn't even be blogging. Oops.
Important updates to take note of:
1. No prac until 12th May.
2. Our AK shirt is... GREY! Love it or hate it, you gotta have it.
3. I only saw like a very few of our names up on the board for National Swimming Finals on the foyer. : ( That is a very sad thing, since i'm actually missing my History for this and I'm kinda worried we can't have make-up lessons since my teacher is only free on Thursday and over my dead body will I miss the Thursday BBT.
OK. Well, I'm sure I'll figure something out. Must remain optimistic, right? Yeah. And since the SAs are already here and i haven't studied much and am totally freaking out and i so don't understand this Physics stuff, I have to end here and go study. OK, so tell me that you can come on Thursday, and good luck for SAs dear ppl!
We're good at both shaking and studying, right?
LUVYA a gazillion billion trillion infinity,
Tracey.

Heyos, Dahlings!
OK, I have been doing some research and came up with some good links to websites that teach us about makeup application. So now you're spared having to go through Google's gazillion advertisements and irrelevant links and skip straight to the good stuff, or worse, not know how to use makeup and end up looking like one of those wayang people.
Here goes:
1. Expert Village Beauty Videos: http://www.expertvillage.com/information_564_beauty.htm
This is pretty good because they give great tips and have step-by-step instructions. Look through the various videos provided here and type in foundation, mascara, etc. in the search engine on the left for specific videos on them.
2. Cosmetics Suite: http://cosmetics.suite101.com/article.cfm/makeup_application
I loved this. Straightforward, to the point and so easy to understand. Scroll down the page and click on the blue links likethe words concealer, foundation, eye makeup .etc and really detailed yet comprehendable articles will come up.
3. Makeep Success: http://www.makeupsuccess.com/index.html
The only good links on this one are Teen Makeup and Makeup Ideas (0n the left-hand-side) but they give pretty basic and specific points so take a look anyway.
Ok, that's about all to get us started on this baffling concept of cosmetics. Ooh and if you want some other ideas, check out these websites: http://www.divavillage.com/ and http://www.glam.com/. They have some good tips (like for the smoky eye look) but are not exactly specific so you might need some time to navigate the websites on your own.

And look at Radiya's post to see what makeup we need.
Also, I still need your responses, dear ppl!! If not, will leave you on your own while we run off to Far East Plaza without you! I'm serious. I need to know if you can come, esp.since i submitted the namelist already and anyway, BATCH BONDING TIME. You should be looking forward to it.

<3,
someone(guess again) XD

Heyas, dear ppl!
I'm so glad and deliriously happy and excited that everyone is finally posting stuff and helping out with the blog, cos you know, we're all in this together. Ok LoLs lame.

Anyway, here are some things to take note of:
1. I handed in the name list for the tailorshop already and just to confirm, Thursday is fine. (:
2. Jing Yi told me that the makeup costs about $50 plus plus so I think on Thursday, bring at least about $60 and more because you might have special preferences about makeup and we'll be having lunch together. And if we have time, we will go take neoprints, ok? And bring camera! We take pictures trying on makeup and at the tailorshop at stuff then can post here!
3. About the blog - I think Jing Yi is making a blogskin for us. Could you include details unique to us, like musical notes and stuff? And I think she did a pretty great job designing the blog, so thank her when you see her.
4. Oh and I need Ci Hui's and Michelle's hp no, so can give me,please?
5. Also, I'm going to need your responses on whether you can come ASAP. Please say YES and make my day!
I really really really want us to have batch bonding time as a whole batch cos you know we're always super busy and CCA is a BIG HUGE GINOURMOUS part of our lives, right? So that we can proudly say we're the most bonded batch ever!

WoW, ppl, did you know Urban did a feature on how Watsons is one of the leading cosmetic chains in Singapore, known for it's affordable pricing on beauty buys and cosmetics and it's limited edition lines. (eg. Remmel, Majolica Majorca, Bourjois) And we are going there to get our makeup. Anyway, I will be posting a list of the makeup we need and the standard pricing and I will be posting some links to websites with guides on makeup application so we can do it like pros! Probably tomorrow, but here there are only the updates for now and just take note of them, k? Remember, sms me your responses!!
I found this quote on a youtube video: The sun lost his job because you guys brighten up my day!
Tracey luvyas tons and lots!

Hey yo shakers of 2012!

Okay, that was weird. Anyways, first things first. WHAT'S WITH THE BLOGSKIN MAN? I think we should choose something simple that everyone likes. So why don't each of us give a list of blogskins we like and then we choose from there? It's more fair like that.

Secondly, EXAMS ARE IN 5 MINUTES TIME! Oh my holy crappuccino, time flies so fast. :( So yeah, good luck people and jiayou! :D So yeah, angklung only starts [refer to previous posts].

And I can't wait for batch bonding time! Tracey, I have a feeling you're gonna be President of the Angklung Orchestra in the year 2012 y'know, looking at the way you manage this blog and everything. xD

Yours truely and sometimes fakely so fruly and trakely,
DDO (guess who?) :D

hey people jingyi here
just change the skin it sucks lar say the truth
the one i found perfect was gone :0
im in the process of making one.
and i know the widgets are too big.
~in the process too~
bear a while k?

Hey hey, dahlings!
SYF's over! But still got MYAs and PTs coming up. :( Oh well, RGS life, right?

So, just to remind you:
1.No prac until 7th May, unless otherwise told.
2.We will be going for National Swimming Finals on Tuesday, 28th April together so quick go sign up on Inet, Student Portal now if you haven't already. (we need to have three Suport School Activities anyway and now's a good time to get one completed AND bond as a batch)
3.On Thursday, 30th April, we will be going to the tailor shop at Far East Plaza together to get our costumes and shop for makeup. It will be just after SAs, so it'll be a way to unwind as well. Remember to bring extra $$ for the makeup! SMS me whether you can go (HP: 81991276) and rmb to include name in message just in case I don't know your number. We will be meeting in the canteen after SAs and go Far East for lunch. (if we do well, will celebrate together. if we don't, will grieve together)
4. Just to let you know, I prepared a note for the AK seniors and want you guys to sign it. Will be passing it around for you to sign.
5. We will be performing at Open House on May 23rd (yay!) and at Suntec City on 18th July (double yay!)

OK, SAs are coming up, people. Best of luck and hope you do well. Pray for me I will pass my Chinese, I beg of you. And take note of the dates in bold and go keep those dates free for our own personal batch bonding time!

Luvya,
Tracey (um duh)

I transferred into 113 on the last day of orientation, so I don't really have any close friends in my class. When I heard I got into RGS Angklung Orchestra, I accepted it, hoping that I would feel accepted there. And I did.
The seniors in Angklung are very nice, but most importantly, my batchmates accepted me as part of the Sec One Angklung-ers. I felt a part of RGAK, felt a sense of belonging there...
We had a lot of fun during the prac sessions, and I got to know my batchmates better than I know even my own classmates. In the Angklung room, during prac in the old PE dept or foyer, I would always be chatting with someone, unlike in my class, I sit in a corner and just clam up.
When the loudspeaker announced that RGAK would have their SYF on that week, I cheered. It just felt right to do so. Although everyone in my class was staring at me like I gone mad or something, it was an awesome feeling to cheer for a group you truly belong to.
Although we didn't get gold with honours, I just want to say this: Angklung Orchestra is the most awesome CCA in RGS, and thank you for making me feel accepted!!!

Hey all, so as you should know, we got Gold. Only.
But remember, today, the performance was amazing. Totally spectacular. And my dear stage crew, we did a great job as well. And the seniors, they moved and smiled and the music was 100% completely fantastic. All the emotions, the music, everything, was poured into the two songs, between that few minutes, and we were holding our breaths backstage while they played up there.
So even if the SYF Central Judges decided to award us the mere, unjustified Gold, we truly came out with Gold With Honours - The honour in our hearts.
And to all our wonderful seniors out there, soon this will just be another SYF for you, one we didn't get GWH in, but one where we know our seniors tried their utmost best, and though they didn't leave behind the GWH, through their sheer brilliant performance, they left behind their honour, so each and every one of them will be remembered and honoured by us.
And we are going to get that GWH the following year. We will train our juniors strictly but kindly the way they trained us. You know our batch only gets one shot at SYF and we are going to make the best of it and get Gold With Honours, in our senior's honour. We will get it. For them.
My dear angklung batchmates, promise me this: live their legacy and leave one behind.

Hey gals!
Me again. Okay tomorrow is SYF Central Judging Day for AK and everyone is super excited, right? Except for the part where we have to wake up like so early just to get to school by 6.45. But! Everything we've done will be worth it and I couldn't be more sure of that. I know that we have to go for all the prac sessions with the seniors and help out and sometimes, it just feels like it's not worth it at all.
I mean, we have this mounting pile of homework, GAs to prep for, SAs looming ahead, PTs - more are coming up, trust me -, friends, family, other commitments. Where is the silver lining in the cloud? Sometimes, you just wanna slow down and take a break, but can you imagine if you ponned school for one day, there will be an even bigger pile of hw waiting when you get back and if you wanna fall asleep, you have that deadline you need to meet (once, for my english PT, i stayed up all night and i felt like crying just knowing we might now finish).
Well, that's life in the fast lane, isn't it? They say RGS girls are so busy, that we miss out on the small things in life, that we forget to stop to just stop and look around and enjoy. They say we are so focused on our goals, on balancing everything at that precarious edge, we don't know how to slow down at all. But I'm sure we can prove them wrong. Once, I heard a speech given by Mrs Julie Hoo, and one line stayed in my mind: Enter every battle with heart. Even if you come out not winning, you know you tried, and you loved it.
AK is the same. To tell the truth, I hated it when I first joined. What I would have given to be in any cca BUT angklung. Now, if you were to expel me or disban the whole ensemble, I'd refuse to budge. I love AK, the escape playing gives me from the real, stressful world, the music, the people, everything about it.
The point is, CCA plays a big part in our lifes and we must embrace it wholeheartedly.
OK, since im starting to sound like some pep talk person, I shall just cut it here.
And I'd like to remind us of what we blog about. There's this thing going on about AK seniors and us Sec1s. Gossip and stuff. You know the usual. All I can really say is, some AK seniors are very nice to us. Like, I heard Sabrina saying, I think Sec1s should be allowed to play in SYF, they've just trained as hard. Which I think, may not exactly reflect the views of the entire ensemble on us but nevertheless, one individual's appreciation of the effort we put in is good enough.
So: RGAK-GOOD LUCK FOR SYF, GO FOR THE GOLD WITH HONOURS!!

Thursday, April 9, 2009
Hey guys!
This is the first blog post for our newly started beloved Angklung Batch Blog!
I will be looking to find suitable blogskins and please, if you have any videos of the SYF rehearsals and songs, or pictures of us, please upload them as well as update everyone on any announcements or news. Keep this blog alive, ok? DON'T ABANDON IT. No matter how busy each of us are, find the time to pop by the blog for just a couple of minutes and leave something behind.
Ok, here are some simple rules and regulations:
1.No profanities.
2.To make things easier for everyone, post everything in proper english (ie.no short forms) and also leave your name behind.
3. Update frequently and visit the blog as often as you can.
Thanks, fellow angklungers-batchmates!
Luvya,
Tracey.
